Creating a space of community and advocacy for the University of California Santa Cruz since 2005.
The purpose and objective of Theta Pi Sigma is to strengthen Greek life by providing a vehicle for positive leadership, change, and growth in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, and asexual community. It is our intention to provide further opportunity to obtain a well-rounded educational experience by offering leadership skills and the atmosphere needed to succeed academically, socially, and culturally.
Theta Pi Sigma hosts a number of events around campus to raise visibility for LGBT+ related issues. Outreach is done through events and programs for students who are curious to rush and become a member!
There are many advantages of joining a Greek organization, and Theta Pi Sigma is different from any other! We are the first All-Gender Greek Organization, with a strong commitment to being involved with the LGBTQQIA community. We are an all-encompassing organization that accepts members regardless of their sexual or gender identity.
Once you have joined the Theta Pi Sigma family, you will become part of a close-knit social group; one that pushes members to make new friends through our many socials and events we host. The possibilities are endless: leadership opportunities, lasting friendships, and multiple ways to get involved with the Santa Cruz community through our philanthropy projects.

About what we do
Every Fall and Winter quarter at UC Santa Cruz, Theta Pi Sigma has a new rush cycle which is what we call our recruitment period. Rush is a time of fun and bonding as we take on new members and foster new friendships. Every rush cycle usually has a fun theme that kicks off the plethora of exciting events.
Since Theta Pi Sigma’s core values involve creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ individuals, one of the activities we plan are educational panels to help educate the student body with information on how to be an ally.
UCSC proudly hosts an annual Queer Prom on campus in which LGBTQIA+ students are given the chance to have a second shot at an otherwise heteronormative space. Theta Pi Sigma works hard in partnerships with other parties to make sure this important event goes off without a hitch.
While Theta Pi Sigma does works to make change for our community, our organization also strives to make sure our inter-greek life is fun as well as cooperative. We put together socials and various activities with other greek organizations.
